Ember is a gorgeous, approximately 3 year old German Shepherd. She is very, very sweet and wants to please. The only thing she loves more than big plushies and squeaky toys is love and cuddles! She is playful, but also loves to just chill with her person.
Ember would do best in a home with previous German Shepherd experience. She can be expressive with her mouth with people and other dogs - being both chattery and grabby. This is a very GSD type of trait, but could be misconstrued by someone who doesn't understand the breed! Ember has been very sweet around kids, but we would recommend a home with older children, due to the fact that she's still learning boundaries with her mouthiness.
We don't know this sweet girls past, but her foster thinks it's likely she either didn't live with dogs in her previous home or had another dog that beat up on her, as it's taken her a little bit of time to learn how to properly act toward her foster brother (who is a 1.5 year old docile male GSD). We believe she would be fine with other docile and non dominant dogs with slow and proper introductions. She loves to play with her foster brother, but has had to learn to not resource guard her food, toys and love from her human foster dad. She wants to please, but just needs time to learn boundaries and rules, as we don't think she was taught them before. She's doing very, very well and will continue to make progress and thrive with the proper training and patience. She would also be fine as an only dog.
Ember is great in the home - fully potty trained and doesn't do any damage to anything. She will be best left unattended in a house, as she gets very stressed when put in a crate. Ember can be an escape artist, so she cannot be left in yards unattended (even though she doesn't venture far).
Ember is fully vetted (spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, HW- and up to date on preventatives). She is on the petite side for a GSD.
