Canela - Mixed Breed and Shepherd Dog for Adoption in Chicago, Illinois

This sweet pup is spayed and fully healthy! She is up to date on vaccines. She is still receiving the core puppy vaccine series and will need one additional vaccine after adoption to reach full immunization. She is also microchipped!

: Housebreaking - Working on it! With a strict schedule and routine, she will catch on in no time

: Crate Training - She has been left at home alone in her crate for 5-6 hours at a time, and has done well overall after taking a bit of time to settle

: Leash walking - She is still learning calm leash manners, and would benefit from continuing to work on this!

: Dog-friendly - She has been friendly when meeting other dogs on walks!

: Cat-friendly - Not sure, she hasn't met cats with us yet! Slow intro required if adopted into a home with a cat.

Kid-friendly: She lives with kids in her foster home and has been doing well, but may be slightly better matched to older kids given her playful energy!

Canela is the absolute sweetest. She plays hard and snuggles harder. She is a curious, energetic pup who really wants your attention. Once she has run out the zoomies, she will immediately be in your lap or upside down napping.

OTAT requires that all dogs 6 months and under be enrolled in a positive reinforcement training program within 2 weeks of their adoption at their adopter's expense. A $150 refundable deposit will be collected at the time of adoption, and refunded upon receipt of proof of enrollment in a positive reinforcement training program.

This pet has not been DNA tested, we are unsure of their actual breed makeup, but these are the breeds we think they look like!
