Meet Fresca! Sweet, shy, and slowly discovering just how wonderful life can be, Fresca is ready to find a family of her very own!

Fresca came into rescue after raising a litter of puppies, and now it's finally her turn to be the baby! She can be a little nervous and unsure when she first meets people or enters a new environment, but once she realizes she's safe, her personality starts to shine. Give her a little time, patience, and some gentle encouragement, and you'll see her come out of her shell more and more each day.

One of Fresca's favorite recent discoveries? Playing with her foster dog sibling! She has really started to loosen up and enjoys romping and having fun with her resident dog. A friendly, patient dog in her forever home could be a wonderful companion for her, but is not required.

Fresca is also a pretty quiet girl. She doesn't bark when someone comes to the door, which is a nice bonus! Every now and then, though, she likes to remind everyone that she has a voice by letting out a dramatic little howl-usually when she's unhappy about something. Think of it as her way of filing a formal complaint.

She's making great progress with potty training! While we wouldn't call her fully potty trained just yet, she's had very few accidents since her first couple of days in foster care and is catching on beautifully. She also enjoys her kennel and sleeps there peacefully at night. We're still working on getting her to go into her kennel on command, but she's making progress.

And don't let her shy personality fool you-once Fresca trusts you, she is incredibly affectionate. She loves being close to her people and has a very sweet, loving side that comes out once she feels comfortable.

She's also a surprisingly good little walking buddy! Fresca walks nicely on a leash and doesn't really pull, making her a pleasure to take along on adventures.

Fresca's ideal family will understand that she may need a little time to adjust and won't expect her to become their best friend on day one. Her ideal home will be a calmer home with older kids. She needs people who are willing to give her patience, reassurance, and time to trust. In return, you'll get to watch an incredibly rewarding transformation as this once-scared mama discovers confidence, playfulness, and the joy of being someone's beloved dog.

Fresca has spent her time taking care of everyone else. Now she's ready for someone to take care of her.

Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs over 9 months), FIV/FeLV test (cats - one in the litter), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration).
