Looking to help a dog in need? Then check out this opportunity to FOSTER OR FOSTER TO ADOPT with Canine Haven Rescue! We are a foster-based rescue organization in the GTA. We can only help bring these dogs out of shelters if we have a foster (or foster to adopt) home for them. Fostering is free, all supplies are provided, and you get the opportunity to help a deserving dog! If you foster to adopt, you will have the option to adopt after approximately 2 weeks.

Niko is looking for a home without kids or cats where he can continue to decompress and settle into a routine.

Niko arrived at a shelter as a stray. He is a timid dog that warms up quickly once you spend a little time with him. He knows sit and paw and we are working on leash pressure awareness. He is a medium energy dog. He pulls light to moderately on the leash but will happily sit beside you for a treat. Niko is a young and inexperienced dog that would benefit from obedience training and socialization. Once he is comfortable with you he really blossoms. He likes to be close to his people and loves to be pet. We believe that Niko could live with another male or female dog. He has had playdates with dogs of both sexes and done well.

Overall, Niko is a sweet, calm and easy-going dog that will truly open up with some positive reinforcement and exposure. He would be a great addition to most families.

Temporarily fostered in Hamilton but can be transported to new foster home.
