Misha is a petite, gentle girl with a soft, sensitive nature. Coming into care as a stray, she appears to have had very little structure or socialization in her past, and the busy shelter environment has been understandably overwhelming for her. She can be timid in new situations, often pacing, panting, and looking for an exit when she feels unsure. Despite this, Misha has shown that beneath her nervous exterior is a sweet dog who is trying her best to navigate a new world.
With people, Misha prefers to take things slow. She may hang back at first and observe rather than jump right into interaction. When given time and space, she will approach to sniff and can accept gentle pets, standing quietly while being handled. She has allowed basic handling such as ear checks and paw lifts, showing that while she may be nervous, she is tolerant and not reactive. Building trust with Misha will require patience, calm energy, and a willingness to let her set the pace.
Misha has shown appropriate, neutral behaviour with other dogs. When introduced to a calm dog, she chose to disengage at times, then approached briefly to sniff before moving on, appearing relaxed and indifferent. She may benefit from a calm, confident canine companion to help her feel more secure and model positive behaviours, though slow, thoughtful introductions will be important.
She has moderate energy but will need support with basic training, including leash skills and housetraining. Misha does pull on leash and may try to retreat when unsure, so a secure handler and consistent training approach will be key. A predictable routine, quiet home environment, and safe space such as a crate will help her decompress and build confidence over time.
Misha is looking for an experienced, patient home that understands shy dogs and is committed to helping her feel safe. With consistency, kindness, and time, she has all the potential to blossom into a loyal and loving companion.
