Meet Rocco

Rocco is a 4-year-old Miniature Schnauzer who is sweet, timid, loving, playful, and, once he decides you are safe, an absolute little lunatic. In the best possible way.

He can be shy at first, but once he warms up, the hilarity begins. Rocco has rodeo romps around the house, joyful little sprints in pursuit of his favorite stuffies, the most adorable little noises, and a tiny hitch in his giddyup when he walks that makes him even more ridiculously cute.

Rocco loves his people and will happily follow you around the house, unless he decides it's time to crawl under the bed for a little alone time. Apparently, the space under the bed is his personal schnauzer bunker, and we respect his privacy.

He also has opinions about his hair. Rocco needs a monthly spa day because looking this handsome is a commitment. He does not particularly enjoy being brushed, but he absolutely needs to be brushed, and frankly, his hair is important to him. We're still negotiating the terms of this arrangement.

Rocco is very well potty trained, with the occasional and very exceptional accident. He walks beautifully on a leash and LOVES his nighttime walks. This is partly because he is apparently a nocturnal creature of mystery, but mostly because this is Las Vegas and the pavement is approximately the temperature of the sun. Rocco has excellent judgment. He waits until evening and then gets down to serious nocturnal Schnauzer business.

He is happy to sleep in his crate and has been crated when left alone while in his foster home. He doesn't hate the car, which is probably the highest endorsement we can responsibly give at this point.

Rocco's joyful little barks are reserved for moments of great excitement, especially when he sees someone he loves. These are not angry barks. These are “YOU'RE HERE! I'M SO HAPPY!” barks.

We're still getting to know Rocco around other dogs. He seems to do well with female dogs, while his feelings about male dogs are still under review. Because of that, he may be happiest as the one-and-only dog in his home.

Rocco LOVES his toys and treats them with the utmost respect. No ripping. No tearing. No stuffing explosions. No stuffie casualties. Just a true gentleman enjoying his possessions like the distinguished little Schnauzer he is.

And when all the romping is over? Rocco sleeps like a tiny baby angel and loves nothing more than curling up in a lap.

Rocco is one of those dogs who may need a little time to show you his whole personality, but once he does, you're going to wonder how you ever lived without him. He is sweet, funny, loving, wonderfully quirky, and just an all-around perfect little boy. He will make someone very, very happy, and in return, he will love you forever and make you laugh every single day.

Basically, Rocco is looking for his person. Preferably one who appreciates excellent hair, nighttime strolls, respectful stuffie ownership, and the occasional joyful Schnauzer bark.

The Miniature Schnauzer is a small and sturdy breed known for its distinctive look, including a wiry coat, bushy eyebrows, and a beard.
