Introducing Theodore Bear IV of Northern NJ
His Royal Poodleness has had at least 4 homes that we know of already in his 4 years of existence and goes by many names. Theo. Bear. Teddy. Poodle. He will pretty much answer to anything as long as you say it sweetly and give him attention. He was passed from home to home for the general reasons... no time, moving, etc. He’s a little nervous and anxious but has been a pretty easy going dog-friendly sweet boy since coming to us. We have had reports of some resource guarding of food, bones, toys, and beds in some of his past homes and sometimes needing to be muzzled for grooming. So he’s probably going to have some quirks as he settles in and need an adult home that knows how to avoid conflict with weird little dogs and give him space at times, and not get their feelings hurt easily if there is a disagreement. He’s was not even 13lbs under all his mats and does have a non-shedding poodle coat, and has now been neutered and updated on shots.

Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Submit an application from our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com to speed up the adoption process and email any questions to us at njwoof@cs.com. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.
