Meet Nelson

Nelson is a handsome 4.5-year-old, 10 pound, Mini Poodle who is beginning a brand-new chapter after being rescued from a puppy mill. While he is still learning that people and new surroundings can be safe, one thing is already clear: Nelson wants to be part of the family.

Nelson loves being near his people and his animal pack. He gets along wonderfully with the other dogs in his foster home and enjoys exploring the yard alongside them. Cats don't bother him much-he typically ignores them, although he may give them a little bark if they stroll past his pen at night. Apparently, nighttime cat patrol is serious business!

This smart boy is already showing signs that he is going to be a people pleaser. He is beginning to learn words and routines like "outside" and "let's go inside," and he is eager to figure out what his people are asking of him. Walking on a leash is still pretty new-and definitely not his favorite activity-so his future family will need to continue working with him patiently and positively.

After spending his first years in a puppy mill, Nelson has a lot of catching up to do. He needs a family who understands that trust takes time and will allow him to experience the world at his own pace. In return, they'll get the incredible privilege of watching this sweet boy discover all the things he missed-comfort, adventure, companionship, and what it means to truly belong.

Nelson is ready to leave his past behind and find the people and pack he can finally call his own.

Nelson is being fostered in Northern Kentucky. His adoption fee is $450.00.

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
