Meet Mickey.
Mickey is a precious little 4-month-old, 5-pound male miniature poodle. He is very sweet and affectionate. Mickey spent the first four months of his life in a puppy mill, and is a little insecure about the bigger world around him. He loves people and would spend every moment with his humans if he could. At this point, he relies on them to assure him that everything is okay. However, in just a few weeks in foster care, he has already started getting a little braver. He likes to spend his days snuggling, wrestling with stuffed animals, and playing with his toys, (as long as it's in close proximity to his foster mom). Despite being a little apprehensive about new things, Mickey has never demonstrated even a hint of aggression towards humans or animals. He has a very pleasant and fun personality.
He has periodic bursts of puppy energy now, but is likely to be a low to medium energy dog when an adult. He gets excited to meet other dogs, but is aware of the size difference between himself and most other dogs; and therefore, wants to be in the arms of his human to feel safe enough to meet them. He has not been much of a barker so far in foster care. He does not like being separated from his humans and will mount a vocal protest, but he calms down and stops within a few minutes after being put in his pen. He uses puppy pads in the pen, and is ready to start potty and leash training. As with all puppies, Mickey will need to be taught boundaries and given the opportunity for daily exercise.
Mickey is a delightful little puppy who is ready start his life in a forever home. If you are looking for a constant companion who likes nothing better than to be by your side, and are able to give him the love and commitment he deserves, please apply today. He has lots of love to give and is very happy to receive it as well!! Mickey is fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area and his adoption fee is $450.
"To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal."
