Sophie - Miniature Pinscher and Italian Greyhound Dog for Adoption in Falmouth, Maine

If you're looking for a pup who has quite a bit of spunk, we may have just the girl for you! Please meet Sophie, a tiny but mighty lady just bursting with personality! Sophie has been vetted, spayed, and microchipped and is ready to make her way home to you! Please read on for her story and for instructions on how to request an application for this very special girl!

Here's what we know about SOPHIE:

- Miss Sophie is just a year old, and tips the scales at her full grown weight of only 14lbs. She will not get any bigger and has a fantastic lean athletic build.

- We believe that Sophie is either a miniature pinscher or Italian greyhound or possibly a mix of the two with maybe some terrier thrown in. She is built just like an Italian greyhound with the coloring of a miniature pinscher. Lots of magic went into creating this unique pup.

- Sophie was an owner surrender along with many other dogs. Since then, she has been thriving in rescue and living her best doggy life. It's now time for her to embark on her journey to her forever home where she can receive lots of love and consistent training and reinforcements to be the best dog she can be.

- Sophie has a very over the top personality and loves to be the life of the party. She came from a rough background where she didn't receive a lot of attention or training, therefore she is still working on mastering her doggy manners and will need a family who is patient and has lots of time to spend teaching her the ropes and setting expectations. She will make a fantastic companion once a solid foundation is beneath her.

- Sophie is small but is a very high energy and active pup. She will need a family who can keep her entertained and has lots of time to dedicate to walks and playtime. Both mental and physical stimulation would be ideal for this girl.

- Sophie is 14lbs, but could still be seen as prey for certain wildlife out there. Her perfect home would either have small breed experience and/or understand that Sophie will need supervision at all times while outside to ensure her safety. A fenced in yard would be a plus too!

- Sophie gets along well with other dogs, and would really enjoy a doggy playmate who could match her energy levels. She has loved spending time at doggy camp and running around with other dogs of all ages and sizes.

- We are not sure how she is with cats, but if the cat in her future home is dog savvy, she should do just fine!

- While we are unsure about Sophie's earlier life, we think she would do very well with kids 5+ who know how to respect doggy boundaries and would enjoy playing with her and spending time with her.

- Sophie is a great girl with lots of potential - she would do best in a dog experienced home who understands her needs and has lots of time to spend with her. She would do very well with someone home the majority of the time as she loves to be foster mom's companion and will form a very tight bond with her new family.
