Miniature Pinscher and Chihuahua Dogs Available for Adoption in Pointe-fortune, Quebec

Gucci originally came to Canada from Tunisia in January and was adopted shortly after arriving at Animatch. Sadly, he has recently been returned due to resource guarding and reactivity issues. Sometimes these situations are no one’s fault — it simply means the match wasn’t quite right. In hindsight, Gucci may not have had enough time to fully decompress and show us who he truly was before heading to his new home.

Very little is known about Gucci’s first five years in Tunisia. Did he once belong to someone? Was he surviving as a street dog? We may never know. What we do know is that Gucci can become protective of things he values, such as food, toys, or his personal space. At the Animatch Centre, we have observed some possessiveness around his crate and belongings, particularly with other dogs nearby.

Because of this, Gucci is looking for an experienced, adult-only home where he can be the one and only pet. He will need someone patient, understanding, and willing to help him feel secure and build trust at his own pace. Training would be a wonderful way to help Gucci start fresh and learn the basics in a positive environment. He is an intelligent, bright, and alert dog who truly wants to connect with his people. With the right guidance, there is every reason to believe Gucci can thrive.

One thing that never fails to make Gucci happy is a long walk where he can sniff to his heart’s content and take in the world around him. Those peaceful moments are when you see the softer side of this handsome boy.
