DESCRIPTION
Meet Enzo, the 110lb male mastiff! Enzo came to the Shelter as an owner surrender after his previous guardians were unable to continue caring for him. Enzo has lived in a home with children and has done well. He also has a history of being house trained. His favorite activities are playing with balls and running around. Enzo is still perfecting some of his tricks but is off to a great start with learning “sit” and “paw”. He would love to bond with his next guardian through positive reinforcement based training. Enzo has a history of enjoying playing with other dogs. Any resident dogs should meet at the Shelter prior to adoption. Adopters should do some breed research on XL sized dogs and mastiffs to ensure that they are prepared for all that adopting one can entail (time, increased finances due to cost, etc). This big lug is ready to give a lot of big love. Come meet him! Enzo is available for pre-adoption. Come meet him, fall in love and take him home after his neuter surgery. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
