INTRODUCING TATUM….a little creamy white, 14 lb, female, 6 yr old Maltipoo, who hailed from the East Valley Shelter. This little girl was dumped in the shelter by her humans when they couldn’t afford to pay for her mammary tumor surgery. Likely, they used her for breeding and sold her puppies. They should have used some of that money to get her surgery! We are waiting for the biopsy results, but our vet got good margins and is very optimistic that she will make a full recovery!
Tatum is extremely sweet, but she is a little head shy and timid at first. Our opinion is she hasn’t gotten a lot of socialization (she seems to be very curious about other dogs and interested in meeting them). Her incision was extremely long, so she has been kept quiet so that she doesn’t pull her sutures out! Suffice it to say. Tatum is ready to go and play!! She is good on a walk and does her business — sometimes in motion! The one thing we have realized is she does not like being left behind or alone, so another dog or humans who are around a lot would be ideal. Also, a yard would be great to finalize her potty training!! In the car, she wants to drive or just be close to you. She will give you gentle kisses to know she appreciates you. She was great at the groomers and is a cuddler once she gets to know you. Respectful, older kids (8+) would be great. She will need a little time to acclimate and patience so that she can fully blossom. Is this a flower you could plant in your home! She’s waiting. **Tatum will be available at adoptions on Sunday, May 31, but she probably will not go home until the following Thursday when her stitches are removed.
