Louis and Sarang are a bonded pair currently living together in foster care in South Korea. Louis is outgoing, affectionate, playful, and confident. Sarang is gentle, quiet, and more cautious. Louis helps Sarang feel safe in new situations. Sarang gives Louis the steady canine companionship he enjoys. They are looking for one family who will welcome them both.

RESCUE STORY
Louis was rescued from an illegal breeding facility in Jeongeup, South Korea. Sarang was rescued from the Jeongeup Municipal Shelter shortly before euthanasia. They were saved by the same rescue partner and later began living together in foster care.
WHY THEY MUST STAY TOGETHER
When Sarang first entered foster care, she was afraid of human hands, walks, and unfamiliar experiences. She made remarkable progress after she began living with Louis. By watching Louis, Sarang learned how to walk more confidently, play, socialize, and feel safer around people. Louis continues to give Sarang confidence and reassurance. They spend their days resting, playing, and enjoying enrichment together. Their bond remains an important part of Sarang gaining confidence, so they must be adopted together.
LOUIS PERSONALITY
Louis is affectionate, social, playful, and highly people oriented. He loves sitting in a lap, being held close, following his people around the home, running, playing hide and seek, and working on nosework activities. He prefers soft fabric toys over hard balls. Louis is intelligent and sensitive to human emotions. He responds best to calm and gentle guidance. A quiet but firm cue is usually enough for him to understand.
SARANG PERSONALITY
Sarang is quiet, gentle, and observant. She prefers people who speak softly, move calmly, and give her time to approach on her own. Loud voices, sudden movements, and overly enthusiastic greetings can make her nervous. When uncomfortable, she moves away rather than reacting aggressively. Once Sarang feels safe, her playful and affectionate personality comes out. She loves nosework, treat filled fabric toys, gentle petting, exploring parks, playing with Louis, and resting on soft blankets. She does not enjoy large toys or loud squeaky toys.
PEOPLE AND CHILDREN
Louis is comfortable with both women and men. He generally accepts attention from unfamiliar people and enjoys physical affection. Louis also does well with children. He may approach them first, accept petting, or run and play alongside them. Sarang is most comfortable with calm and respectful people. Their behavior and energy level matter more to her than their age or gender. Because Sarang is sensitive to noise and sudden movement, the pair would do best with adults or calm and respectful older children. A loud home with very young or highly energetic children may overwhelm her.
OTHER DOGS
Both Louis and Sarang are social with other dogs. Louis confidently greets dogs of different sizes. He enjoys active play and communicates clearly when another dog becomes too pushy. Extremely rough or relentless dogs may overwhelm him. Sarang politely greets larger dogs and is usually more playful with smaller dogs. After an initial greeting, she may lose interest and continue exploring. They do not need another dog because they already have each other. A compatible resident dog may be considered with a gradual introduction.
CATS AND OTHER ANIMALS
Both dogs have seen outdoor cats and birds without showing much interest or trying to chase them. Neither dog has lived with a cat indoors, so their compatibility with a resident cat is unknown. Any introduction to a cat would need to be gradual and supervised.
HOME LIFE
Louis and Sarang currently stay home together for approximately 8 to 9 hours on weekdays. They have not shown separation anxiety. While their foster family is away, they nap, play together, eat, and work on nosework activities. Neither dog damages furniture or household belongings. Louis may occasionally wait near the front door for his foster family to return, but he settles normally. Sarang enjoys making a cozy nest from blankets and usually sleeps there at night.
BARKING
Both dogs are generally quiet. Louis may briefly bark when he hears another dog barking outside. He often communicates by making funny little snorting or puffing sounds instead of barking. Sarang rarely barks.
POTTY TRAINING
Louis and Sarang currently go outside 3 times a day. Their walks are spaced at regular intervals and total approximately 1.5 to 2 hours each day. Both dogs reliably urinate and have bowel movements during their walks. Because they receive frequent outdoor potty opportunities, they now rarely eliminate inside the home. Their adopter should maintain the same 3 walk schedule, especially during the transition period. They are doing very well with outdoor potty training, but occasional indoor accidents may happen while they adjust to a new home and routine.
WALKS AND EXERCISE
Both dogs enjoy being outside and need regular daily exercise. Louis has good leash manners. He does not typically pull excessively, scavenge for food, or try to flee when startled. He especially loves running and has impressive stamina for his small size. Sarang also loves walks. Motorcycles and bicycles can still make her nervous, but she has improved significantly. She may lower her tail when they pass, but she can often continue walking instead of freezing or trembling. The pair would do well with a family that can provide 3 daily walks, regular outdoor exploration, nosework, and opportunities to run in securely enclosed areas.
CAR RIDES
Louis may become carsick during trips longer than approximately 1 hour. He should travel in a secure and comfortable restraint with good ventilation. Breaks may help during longer trips. Sarang was initially tense and drooled during car rides. She has improved with practice and now sits or lies calmly in place. She does not appear to become carsick, although car rides are not her favorite activity.
CRATE TRAINING
Neither dog has received formal crate training. Louis is not afraid of a crate. Sarang knows how to enter one but has not been trained to remain inside with the door closed. Any future crate training should be introduced gradually and positively.
GROOMING
Louis is calm and cooperative during bathing and blow drying. Sarang is initially nervous about the sound of running water. Once the bath begins, she settles and allows herself to be washed. She also tolerates blow drying and tooth cleaning well.
FOOD AND TREATS
Both dogs eat their regular kibble without toppers and are not generally picky. Salmon causes increased tearing for both Louis and Sarang and should be avoided. Louis enjoys most treats but should not be given very hard treats. Sarang may refuse food or treats if the pieces are too large. She especially enjoys meat based treats and dried sweet potato.
TOYS AND RESOURCE GUARDING
Louis has not shown resource guarding. Sarang may give a brief warning growl if Louis tries to take a toy she is using. She also prefers to carry high value treats to her blanket and eat them privately. She has not escalated to threatening or aggressive behavior. Special treats and chews should be given separately. Shared toys should be supervised.
CURRENT HEALTH AND CARE
Both Louis and Sarang are currently healthy. Both dogs should continue receiving veterinarian approved flea, tick, heartworm, and internal parasite prevention every month throughout the year. Louis anal glands fill quickly and are currently expressed approximately every other day. His adopter should discuss an appropriate long term care schedule with a veterinarian or experienced groomer. Louis is afraid of deep water and should wear a properly fitted life jacket during any water activity.
IDEAL HOME
Louis and Sarang need a calm and affectionate family committed to caring for them together. Their family should maintain 3 daily walks and provide approximately 1.5 to 2 hours of total outdoor time each day. They also need regular nosework, enrichment, and opportunities to run in securely enclosed areas. Their family should use gentle and consistent training, give Sarang time to adjust, and give Louis plenty of affection and physical closeness. Their outdoor potty routine should be continued. High value treats and chews should be provided separately. A calm and predictable environment without harsh corrections or excessive household noise will help Sarang continue to flourish. Louis would especially enjoy a home where someone is present for more of the day. However, both dogs currently manage a normal workday together without separation anxiety.
ADOPTION INFORMATION
Louis and Sarang are currently in South Korea and can travel to the United States once matched with an approved family. They must be adopted together. The combined adoption fee is 1100 dollars. The standard adoption fee is 650 dollars per dog. Because Louis and Sarang must remain together, their combined fee has been reduced from 1300 dollars to 1100 dollars. Only one adoption application is needed for the pair.
Louis and Sarang have already helped each other build a safer and happier life. Now they need a family who will protect their bond and give them the loving home they deserve together.
