Meet Sir Winston, is like our very own baby lamb chop. This sweet little guy literally hops around like a tiny lamb and is discovering the world for what may be the very first time.

When Winston came to New Hope, it was clear life hadn't always been kind to him. He was found abandoned and wearing a cone that had become painfully embedded around his neck, causing sores and infection. His nails were severely overgrown, and his fur was dirty and matted. While we'll never know exactly what his past looked like, we do know that he was neglected and failed by the people who should have loved him.

And yet, Winston's spirit remains absolutely beautiful.

The shy, shut-down little dog who shook so hard his kennel door rattled at the vet is slowly blossoming into a happy, curious pup. Every day brings something new—another brave step, another toy discovered, another tail wag.

Winston has already learned the outdoor stairs and is working up the courage to tackle the indoor ones. He loves toys and has the cutest little bark that he uses to invite his dog friends to play. He enjoys pets and kisses and happily gives kisses in return.

He is wonderfully polite with other animals. He eats alongside the pack without bothering anyone for their food and gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes and with cats. In fact, having furry friends around seems to give him confidence, so we believe he would thrive in a home with another friendly, confident dog who can continue teaching him that the world isn't so scary after all.

Winston is potty pad trained and is currently working on his house-training skills. He is gentle, sweet, and completely non-reactive. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He truly is like a baby learning how to be a dog and discovering that life can be safe, fun, and full of love.

The best part about Sir Winston is watching him bloom. Every day he becomes a little braver, a little more playful, and a little more confident.
