AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION BY APPLICATION
Rihanna was brought to the shelter as a stray and was never reclaimed, but she's ready to leave that chapter behind and start fresh with a loving family. When she first arrived, she was very nervous and unsure of her surroundings. After a few days of patience and care, she began to relax-and now she's turned into a total love bug who craves affection and companionship.
She did arrive matted, so regular grooming will be important in her future home to keep her comfortable and feeling her best.
Rihanna is sensitive to fast movements, so she would do best in a calm home without small children where she can feel safe and secure. Once she trusts you, she's incredibly sweet and enjoys soaking up attention.
She appears to be kennel trained for short periods, though she may still have a few accidents overnight, so she may need some continued work with potty training. Rihanna does okay with cats, though she can be a bit scared of them at times. She has not been formally dog tested, but has not shown any negative reactions toward dogs so far.
With a patient and understanding adopter, Rihanna will blossom into a devoted and affectionate companion.
Rihanna has received her DHPP and Bordetella vaccinations, a microchip, and dewormer. She is heartworm negative and on prevention. Her spay is scheduled for 4/24.
ABOUT: MALTESE DOG BREED
The Maltese is a small toy breed known for its glamorous white coat, which is long, silky, and virtually hypoallergenic. They are gentle, affectionate companion dogs that thrive on human companionship and make wonderful family pets. Maltese dogs are playful, intelligent, and alert, with a confident demeanor despite their small size. They require regular grooming to maintain their luxurious coat and are suitable for apartment living due to their size and adaptability.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
