Meet Stormy
Stormy is a beautiful, six-year-old, pure bred chocolate lab. She has retired from breeding and is ready to find her forever home. She gets along with all dogs and cats and all people, including children. While Stormy loves pets and walks, what she really wants is to be with her people. She also enjoys other dogs and gains confidence and comfort from other dogs, especially if her people are away. Stormy hasn't shown a lot of interest in playing (toys or bones) yet, but we think with the right playmate she might be more playful. She has shown that she can chill in her crate for a full workday while her people have leave to go to work. She walks beautifully on leash and only pulls when there is a super good sniff. Stormy also likes to go with her people and jumps in and out of the car on her own. She knows some commands such as sit, stay, come and no. She does not jump up on people, so we haven't had to use off/down much. But she is very curious and, at first, jumped up on counters w/ paws. She is very smart and curious. Her people will want to be careful of interesting items on the countertops to keep Stormy safe.
Stormy is just the sweetest thing and will make nearly any family very happy. She is hoping for a family that will understand where she came from and be patient with her. She is still learning to navigate life in a home with people that love her. Her new family will need to stick to her weight loss plan as she works to be healthy. Once she is at a healthy weight, she will need to be spayed.
Stormy's favorite thing is her people, with her fur friends coming in a close second. She is not shy and loves meeting new people, especially children.
