Hi there! My name is Tate, and I'm a southern belle who recently traded an uncertain future for a life of fun and adventures with people who love me...and I love them too!
Before coming to Minnesota, I was found wandering in the woods in Alabama with my sister...we were just trying to survive one day at a time. Luckily, some kind people helped us get safe, cleaned up, and cared for. Before long, we were on our way north to start a brand-new chapter with families of our own. I miss my sister, but my foster-sister is fun (and a good teacher!).
Minnesota is definitely different, but I think I'm settling in pretty well. There are so many new smells to investigate, squirrels to supervise, and places to explore. I've already learned that Minnesotans really love being outside, and honestly, I think I fit right in. Whether it's relaxing on the patio, riding in the car, or stretching out on the couch (or your bed) after a busy day, I'm happiest when I'm near my people.
My family says I'm sweet, curious, and a super soft. I like following people from room to room just to make sure they don't get lonely...though stairs (especially wooden ones) freak me out a little. I'm also an expert-level observer..if you open a snack, squeak a toy, or even think about going for a walk, I will know immediately. I know that outside is the place to do "my business," and I have no problems with that!
I'm still young, so I have lots of puppy energy mixed with times where I suddenly become extremely sleepy. I love meeting people, getting scratches behind my ears, and curling up where I can keep an eye on everyone. And treats? Yes, please!!!
I'm not a big fan of going into a crate, but I can do it if I have to. My foster family made me a soft, warm, and safe place all my own in their laundry room, so I'm perfectly comfortable in there when they're gone.
Even though I came a long way from Alabama, Minnesota is starting to feel like home. I may not have been born here, but I think I'm becoming a pretty good Minnesota dog -- one walk, one nap, and one treat at a time.
Ya'll betcha! How's that for an "Alabamasotan" accent?
