Meet Ranger!
Ranger is a sweet, smiley guy with a huge heart—and at 85 pounds, he’s convinced he’s still the perfect size to be a lap dog! This lovable guy would happily spend his days close to his person, soaking up attention and showing off his big personality.
Ranger loves playing with toys and is a smart boy with lots of training skills under his belt. He walks best with a gentle-leader-style halter, which helps him enjoy his walks comfortably and successfully. When the halter is off, he especially loves taking his time to sniff and explore his surroundings.
With medium energy, Ranger enjoys a good walk and play session, but he also knows how to settle down and relax when it’s time to rest. He can be a wonderful companion for someone looking for a dog who enjoys activity but is equally happy to kick back and hang out.
Ranger is looking for a home where he can be the only pet and would do best without children. He also needs an adopter who is willing to give him time and patience when meeting new people. He may bark when first meeting unfamiliar men, but he has successfully met multiple men when introductions are handled slowly and paired with plenty of tasty treats. With the right approach, Ranger can build trust and make wonderful connections.
Ranger has been diagnosed with Lyme disease, but thankfully it is not currently impacting his quality of life. He also has plantar fasciitis, which can cause occasional limping. He participates in physical therapy exercises once a week to help manage the limping and keep him as comfortable as possible.
Ranger is about 4 years old, 85 lbs, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and microchipped. His adoption fee of $300 includes two private training sessions with one of our trainers to help him settle into his new home.
Ranger may need a little patience and understanding, but in return, he has so much love to give. If you’re looking for a goofy, affectionate, smart companion who will be right by your side, Ranger might just be your guy.
