Willow - Labrador Retriever and Coonhound Dog for Adoption in Olympia, Washington

Willow is a 2-year-old Lab/Hound mix and one half of a bonded pair with her sister, Sadie. They have been together their entire lives and are looking for a family ready to welcome them both.

The girls came to us scared, emaciated, and unsure of a world they had never been given the chance to explore. With safety, good food, and patient care, Willow is gaining weight and blossoming into a loving, playful, delightfully goofy dog.

Willow is the more cautious sister. She may take a little longer to approach someone new, but once she decides you are safe, she becomes completely devoted. She loves staying close to her people and offering gentle nose boops, tiny licks, and quiet cuddles.

She has also discovered that indoor life includes many excellent sleeping surfaces. Willow prefers whichever item is currently the biggest and coziest, so you may find her stretched across your pillows, tucked into a laundry basket, or resting proudly on the clean clothes you had planned to put away.

Willow is crate-trained, well-mannered, quick to learn, and gets along beautifully with other dogs. She has also lived around farm animals, with no concerning prey drive.

Because Willow had never experienced life beyond her original property, harnesses, leashes, traffic, and neighborhood walks are all brand new. She will need a calm, patient family willing to let her become comfortable with her gear before gradually introducing short, quiet walks.

Her ideal home will provide indoor living, a securely fenced yard with a fence at least 5 feet tall, and plenty of cozy places to sleep - although she will choose the exact location herself.

Willow and Sadie are bonded and must be adopted together. They have always been each others comfort and constant, and now they need a family whose home - and laundry basket - has room for both!
