Vaccinated, Microchipped & Neutered!

This handsome boy is a social butterfly who loves everyone he meets! He's playful, affectionate, and always ready for cuddles. His favourite things include belly rubs, giving kisses, exploring nature, and playing with squeaky toys and ropes.

A little more about Chestnut:
Friendly with other dogs, cats, and kids.
House-trained, although he may occasionally miss his pee pad.
Enjoys his walks and exploring nature.
Loves playing with other dogs.
Very treat-motivated and eager to please.
A total cuddle bug who loves being close to his people!
Chestnut also has an adorable habit of using his front paws like little hands when he wants something.
He can be nervous around loud household machinery, garage doors, and car rides, so a patient and understanding family would be wonderful for him.

A Little Something Important About Chestnut:
Chestnut is heartworm-positive and is currently receiving treatment.
Please don't let this discourage you from opening your heart to him!
Heartworm is not contagious through normal contact to other dogs, cats, or people. It is transmitted through infected mosquitoes.
Backstreet Paws Rescue will cover Chestnut's heartworm treatment until he tests negative! Chestnut will need a family committed to following his treatment.
Heartworm doesn't define Chestnut. He's still the same sweet, affectionate boy who deserves a loving forever home.
