DESCRIPTION

Whitney Joy is one of those dogs that feels impossible not to love the second you meet her. Between her giant happy smile, soft soulful eyes, and ridiculously velvety bunny-rabbit-soft fur, she has this personality that instantly pulls people in. And we HAVE to talk about the little ridge of fur running down the middle of her back because it is honestly one of the coolest cutest things ever and somehow makes her even more unique. Whitney Joy has that happy friendly Lab-like personality people adore, but there’s also something really gentle and sweet about her that makes her stand out in her own way. She’s playful, affectionate, goofy, and full of that easy feel-good energy that makes everyday life more fun just by having her around.

Watch her video and fall in love with her personality: https://youtu.be/0EjtfEuWgfU?si=-oGgd2i0acrvz7o_

Whitney is believed to be a Lab mix approximately 1 year old and currently weighs 52 lbs. She is a rescue dog and, with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Remember that ridge-like pattern that we mentioned in the beginning? There may even be a possibility that she may even be part Rhodesian Ridgeback! Regardless of her DNA, she’s the perfect mix of everything right.

It's a given this bundle of joy is absolutely adorable and such a happy gal, but she is so much more than that. She loves every person she meets, she knows no stranger! Connections with her are instantaneous. When people first meet her, they instantly comment on how adorable and friendly she is! Whitney is such a go-with-the-flow type of girly who is happy regardless of where she is or who she is with. It's almost impossible not to immediately fall for her friendly and goofy personality.

Whitney is dog friendly and has done great with all of the dogs we have introduced to her. She has been around dogs with all different temperaments and sizes. Some even as small as 20lbs. Once Whitney knows a dog and feels comfortable, she jumps right into the fun and seems to have the BEST time romping around, playing chase, sharing toys, and hanging out with her pals. From what we have seen, she gives the impression that sheloves those lighthearted games of chase and playful zoomie moments with her doggy friends.

When meeting brand new dogs in unfamiliar environments though, Whitney can be a tiny bit shy at first and is not usually the type to immediately cannonball herself into the middle of the party LOL. She tends to take a minute to observe, get comfortable, and feel things out before fully opening up socially. But once she settles in, her happy playful personality comes right out. In a home, we believe Whitney would do best in a home with another dog that enjoys companionship, playful adventures, and fun little games of chase. If you don’t have another dog though, that’s completely okay too. Whitney does not rely on another dog to feel comfortable or confident and would be just as happy soaking up all the love and attention as your one-and-only girl.

Whitney also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. She did not chase Biggie, nor was she bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also felt comfortable around her as well. We do not know if she has ever lived in a home before with a cat, and this was our first time seeing her with one. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for her to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know!

When it comes to training, Whitney loves treats and will do anything for a tasty snack! She already knows how to sit, the down command, and will do it almost instantaneously when you ask. She walks generally well on a leash, and is crate and potty trained too. Whitney will pull every now and then on a leash out of excitement but with structured leash walks and consistency, this little lady will be walking like a princess more consistently. Her ideal home would have a backyard where she can zoom around, play with her toys, and sunbathe during those nice summer days.Whitney gives the impression that she is a social butterfly type, so if you're someone who likes to host or have friends over for backyard BBQs, Whitney will be right there in the midst of all the entertainment. I'm sure she will be one of the main talking points in all your conversations as well.

If you have kids, well meet their future bestie because Whitney has done really well with the 5 year old she met. Similar to how she approaches meeting new dogs in unfamiliar environments, she was just a tiny bit shy and observant at first while she figured everything out. Nothing dramatic at all, just taking a second to process and get comfortable before fully opening up. And honestly? It took maybe five minutes before she was already jumping up on the bed with him for cuddles like they had been best friends forever LOL. Once Whitney settles in, her sweet affectionate personality shines so naturally and it was really cute watching her relax and soak up the attention. Based off what we observed during that interaction, she showed a lot of qualities that could make her a really wonderful family dog.

We are willing to test Whitney Joy with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know.
