Oona is a sweet 9-year-old lab mix with a gentle soul and the kind of mama heart that deserves to finally be cared for in return. She came to us from another shelter after facing euthanasia alongside her seven tiny puppies, and through it all, she kept being the good, steady, loving momma she is. Every one of her babies has now found a loving home, and now it is Oona's turn.

She is shy at first, but underneath that quiet reserve is a laid-back, sweet girl who just wants a soft place to land and a little patience as she settles in. Oona has clearly spent so much of her life caring for others, and we would love to see her finally get the chance to be the one who is loved, pampered, and protected.

During her time with us, we discovered that Oona is heartworm positive, so she will need a calm, restful environment while she goes through treatment and recovery. We do have a heartworm treatment plan in place, and we are happy to go over all the details with any potential adopter.

Oona has done her job beautifully as a mom. Now she is ready for a family of her own, one that will help her bloom into the peaceful, cherished companion she was always meant to be.
