Some dogs are exciting and goofy and larger than life… and then there are dogs like Gaia June. The kind of dog that instantly makes you exhale without even realizing you were holding tension in the first place. This girl has one of the calmest sweetest presences about her and genuinely feels like the living embodiment of comfort. Between the soulful eyes, the gentle nature, and the way she quietly leans into you for affection like she’s trying to physically absorb your stress, Gaia has this incredibly grounding energy that makes people fall for her really fast. She’s the type of dog that somehow makes a house feel softer and more peaceful just by existing in it.

Gaia June is believed to be a Lab/Pittie mix approximately 3 years old and currently weighs 76 lbs. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. What we CAN guarantee though is that this girl has one of the sweetest gentlest souls we’ve ever met. Honestly, being around Gaia feels like getting a hug after a really long day.
Gaia is incredibly affectionate and absolutely loves her people. She can initially be a little shy with new people, but the second you start baby talking her and telling her what a sweet beautiful girl she is? You can literally see her start melting. Once she realizes she’s safe and loved, her affectionate side comes out so naturally. She loves to lean into people for hugs and will honestly stand there letting you hug her for as long as you need. Gaia has the same comforting calming presence people look for in those once-in-a-lifetime companion dogs. She’s just one of those dogs that naturally makes your day feel better by being near you.
Gaia has also been around kids as young as 7 years old and truly seemed like she was exactly where she was meant to be. Her sweet gentle personality carried over beautifully with the little boy she met and she handled hugs, affection, and all the love so patiently and softly. She genuinely just seemed content being included and loved on. Nothing about her interactions with him felt tense or overwhelming for her. She simply existed in that calm easygoing Gaia way that makes everyone around her feel comfortable too.
With other dogs, Gaia has been very soft, respectful, and easygoing overall. She is dog friendly and could absolutely live peacefully with another dog, but she’s definitely more of a “peaceful coexistence” type than a built-in playmate. She’s not really looking for nonstop wrestling sessions or chaos LOL. Gaia seems happiest simply existing alongside other dogs while still focusing most of her attention on her people. She would likely do best with another calm respectful dog that matches her easygoing nature and doesn’t pressure her into interaction constantly.
She also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. She did not chase Biggie, nor was she bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also felt comfortable around her as well. We do not know if she has ever lived in a home before with a cat and this was our first time seeing her with a cat. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for her to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know!
Gaia is crate trained, has wonderful house manners, walks beautifully on leash, and honestly feels like the perfect “easy Sunday morning stroll around the neighborhood” type of dog. She’s medium-to-low energy overall and doesn’t ask for much. A comfy couch, soft voices, love, a few walks, and quality time with her people? That honestly sounds like Gaia’s dream life. She has the potential to do really well either in an apartment or in a home with a backyard because she truly is just such an adaptable mellow companion.
Gaia bonds deeply with her people and loves them very much. She especially seems to adore men and naturally gravitates toward them. Because she loves her humans so deeply, she can sometimes quietly wait near doors or gates when her people leave because she’s hoping they’ll come back soon. It’s not over-the-top or unmanageable at all, she’s just the kind of dog that forms really meaningful attachments and genuinely wants to be close to the people she loves most. At the end of the day, Gaia isn’t the type of dog that’s trying to be the loudest or flashiest dog in the room. She’s special in a much quieter deeper way. She’s comfort. She’s warmth. She’s the dog that quietly rests her head beside you during hard days and somehow makes things feel a little lighter without even trying.
We are willing to test Gaia June with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know.
