Meet Lily
Mixed Breed Female 9 Months Old 20 lbs
Lily is a sweet, smart, and playful young dog looking for a patient forever home. She was rescued after being found alone near an apartment hillside where a stray dog family had been living. As a tiny puppy, Lily survived on her own for several days before she was safely rescued and given a second chance.
Lily is a wonderful combination of playful energy and a gentle heart. She loves walks, playing fetch, tug toys, and having fun with other dogs. She is especially happy around her canine friends and enjoys learning from confident dogs. She currently does well with dogs of different sizes.
Lily can be shy with new people and unfamiliar environments. She may hide or keep her distance at first, especially around strangers and sudden noises, but she warms up with patience, treats, and kindness. Once she trusts someone, she is affectionate, playful, and very loving.
She is house-trained with pee pads, enjoys being handled, and does well with grooming. Lily has a moderate-to-high puppy energy level and loves to play, but after fun activities she is happy to relax on her bed.
Lily would thrive in a calm home with a patient family who understands that confidence takes time to build. A home with another friendly, confident dog would be a wonderful match, but what she truly needs is someone willing to guide her with love and consistency.
Lily is a smart and special girl who has already overcome so much. She is ready to find the family who will help her continue to grow and show the world what a wonderful companion she can be.

### Please Note###
*Lily is currently living in a foster home in Korea. Once she is adopted, she will be transported to the U.S. Because of this, we are unable to arrange in-person meet-and-greets. We are happy to provide detailed information, photos, and videos to help you get to know her.
* We do not recommend leaving dogs alone for more than 4 hours. If you expect to be away longer, we strongly encourage doggy daycare or another appropriate care option.
* We typically do not adopt to homes with children under 8 years old.
* Applicants must be at least 25 years old and live within a 45-minute driving distance of Springfield, Virginia (Northern Virginia and the Washington, DC suburbs only).
* A home check is required before adoption.
* Applicants must have a social media account so we can receive post-adoption updates. We monitor all adopted pets to ensure they continue to thrive.

Many of our rescue dogs had very little socialization before entering our program. As a result, skills such as house training, leash walking, and adjusting to family life may take a little extra time. Patience, understanding, and gentle guidance are essential. The good news is that most of our dogs adapt remarkably well, and helping them blossom into confident family companions is an incredibly rewarding experience.
*** About us ***
Hope For Donghae Paws(HDP) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to bringing rescue dogs from Korea to the US and finding permanent homes for them. It is true there are many animal lovers in Korea, but still many dogs suffer and are killed for food.
Our mission is to find US homes for mixed-breed dogs whose chances of being adopted in their native Korea are very low.
