Panda was rescued from Jeongeup City animal shelter in a rural area of North Jeolla Province, South Korea. His history before the shelter is unknown, as is the case for many dogs taken in from small rural farming communities. What we know is who he is now: curious, gentle, playful, and overflowing with puppy energy.
-- PEOPLE --
Panda loves everyone equally women, men, children with zero warming-up required. The moment he senses someone is fond of him, he trots right over and turns on the full charm. His signature move: pressing his bottom firmly against whoever he's sitting next to, as if to make sure there's no gap between you.
-- OTHER DOGS --
Panda is happiest when he has a dog to run with. He plays beautifully with dogs of all sizes polite, reads his partner well, and adapts his style accordingly. He would thrive as a second dog or in a multi-dog home. Note: with very tiny dogs (under 4 lbs) he may bump into them enthusiastically to initiate play supervision recommended with micro breeds.
-- CATS & CHILDREN --
Panda has shown no significant reaction to cats on walks glances and moves on. He has wagged his tail and accepted children who approach him. Neither has been observed in depth in a home setting, so both are listed as unknown out of caution.
-- DAILY LIFE --
No separation anxiety he plays with toys or naps quietly when alone (up to about 2.5 hours). Rarely barks. House-trained with a strong preference for outdoor potty. No destructive behavior tried to chew furniture once on day one, was redirected, never repeated. Loves rope and cloth toys but will shred them; rubber and silicone toys are safer for unsupervised play.
-- EXERCISE --
Panda needs substantial daily exercise a morning walk of around 2 hours, an evening walk of 30 minutes to 1 hour, and weekend visits to a dog park for off-leash play. He loves his walks and greets other dogs well along the way. He is sensitive to sudden loud noises and would be happiest in a quieter, less urban environment.
-- HEALTH --
No past medical history. Currently healthy. Has seasonal pollen sensitivity he sneezes during high pollen periods, so ease up on outdoor activity on heavy pollen days. Monthly parasite prevention: NexGard Plus on the 13th of each month.
-- IDEAL HOME --
Panda would do best with an active family who enjoys long walks and outdoor time, ideally with another dog already in the home. A quieter environment suits him well. He is a puppy still finding his footing, and the right family will find he is a remarkably easy, loving companion.
Give him just a little time to settle in and he will repay you with years of loyalty, play, and that signature bottom-press whenever he wants to be close.
