Meet Zella 💖

Zella is the sweetest little girl you’ll ever meet—a true diamond in the rough with a heart full of love. She adores everyone and everything she meets, from people of all ages to dogs big and small. Her gentle, happy spirit makes her an instant friend to all.

Zella’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. We rescued her from a high-kill shelter just hours before she was scheduled to be euthanized. She came to us with a severe case of flea dermatitis, which left her with some patchy hair. The good news? Her coat is already growing back beautifully, and it won’t be long before she’s looking as amazing as she feels.

But here’s the thing—we don’t believe Zella should have to wait for her “perfect” appearance to find her forever home. She is already perfect where it counts, and it wouldn’t be fair to make her wait any longer for the love she deserves.

In her foster home, Zella is thriving. She loves playing with the other dogs—no matter their size—and has a blast with her toys, especially anything that squeaks! When playtime is over, she’s just as happy to curl up on the couch with the kids, soaking in cuddles while watching TV or taking a peaceful nap.

Zella is ready for her second chance—a safe, loving forever family who will see her for the beautiful soul she is. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion, Zella is waiting to fill your home (and your heart) with joy. 🐾

* Oglesby - We won’t be at our usual Oglesby stop this week but dogs can be picked up in Bloomington, Peoria or Davenport.

* Omaha - Saturday afternoon

Medical & Spay/Neuter Information:
Most puppies travel with two rounds of vaccines, and sometimes three. Occasionally, we may not have had a puppy long enough for a second round.

Puppies under 6 months of age are not spayed or neutered. Spaying or neutering is a required condition of adoption and must be completed by the puppy’s first birthday or by your veterinarian's recommendation, at the adopter’s expense. Out-of-state surgery costs are not included in the adoption fee.

Breed is our best estimate based on the puppy’s appearance and, when known, the mother’s appearance. Fathers are rarely known, and litters can have multiple fathers, meaning puppies may be half-siblings with different breed mixes.
