FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks!

Meet Quinn... we were not quite prepared for the DNA result. The ice blue eyes should have been a giveaway, but the scruff and the short legs on sister Sutton had us thinking Corgi mix. Quinn has the coolest pattern on her fur too - brindle spots, the stunning white and gold. Really - it's a big dog / little dog romance for sure. Quinn and her sister were dumped at a farm in CA, so we have no idea about their previous history. She's beautiful and sweet.
Quinn is about 12 weeks old and 13 pounds. DNA thinks they will be about 30-40#, it's hard to say. Her foster says "She’s the curious one! A little more independent, but cautious as she checks out new things. She’s a smart girl and already catching on to “sit” pretty quickly. Loves a good snack and is always up for some playtime!"
Currently in her foster home, she is learning all things puppy - crate training, housebreaking, and more!
This puppy is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated to appropriate age when they go home. They will need more puppy shots and her rabies vaccine.
Puppies are good with dogs, cats, kids and more. Being a puppy, they will need lots of training, including housebreaking. Remember, puppies are cute, but they have sharp teeth, need to be fed 3 times a day and poop... a lot! They will cry in their crate, might need a potty break in the middle of the night. They will pee and poop in your house - your fault ;) - and will chew on your shoes, your children’s toys and maybe even the furniture. But... once transitioned into your home, will be life long companions!
The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training.
Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption.
Adoptions typically take place in Stanwood.
Adoption fee is $525. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible.
Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home.
Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your dog.
