Brownie is a handsome 1-year-old Husky mix with a heart as sweet as his name. This adorable boy weighs 30+ pounds and is ready to find a family who will help him discover just how wonderful the world can be.

Brownie and his brother, Tank, came to the shelter after their family lost their housing. Life at the shelter has been a little overwhelming for this sensitive guy, and Brownie can be quite nervous and afraid in this environment. But underneath those worried eyes is an incredibly sweet boy who is blossoming more and more every day.

Once Brownie realizes you're a friend, his favorite things are people, pets, and kisses. He is happy to soak up some love and attention. With a little time, patience, and reassurance, we’re confident Brownie will come out of his shell and truly shine in a home.

Like many young Huskies, Brownie will likely be a high-energy, playful, and social boy once he feels comfortable. He would benefit from some general training to help him build confidence, socialize, and learn the ins and outs of walking nicely on a leash. His ideal family will be active and patient—people who are ready to take him on adventures, help him experience new things, and show him that the world really isn't so scary after all.

Brownie is dog friendly, and a meet-and-greet is required. His compatibility with cats and children is currently unknown.

Brownie is also available through our Foster-to-Adopt Program, which means you can welcome him into your home now while he finishes his veterinary care with the shelter. During this time, Brownie will receive his vaccines, neuter, microchip, and heartworm testing—everything he needs to begin his next chapter safe, healthy, and loved.

Brownie may need a little time to feel brave, but we have a feeling that once he knows he's home, this sweet boy is going to blossom into one happy, playful, kiss-giving adventure buddy.
