Meet Axel
Mr. Axel is the definition of a velcro dog — once he bonds with his person, he’ll follow you anywhere… and yes, that even includes the shower! He is incredibly loyal and happiest when he’s close to his people.
Axel is currently being fostered with two female dogs and does well with them. He does have a strong, confident personality and likes to help himself to whatever he wants (toys, bones, you name it), but there is no aggression — just a dog who knows what he likes!
He is very in tune with his person and listens well. Axel absolutely loves toys, enjoys his walks, and has a special place in his heart for meat. He walks fairly well on leash, though squirrels are very exciting to him, so he does have some prey drive.
Axel isn’t overly food motivated and can be a bit picky with treats. He tends to graze his meals rather than eat them all at once.
In the home, Axel is an absolute gem. He is great with children and welcomes visitors happily. He sleeps quietly in his crate through the night and can be trusted loose in the home — he is non-destructive and well-mannered.
Axel is a sweet, loving, and playful boy who is ready to find his perfect match — someone who will embrace his loyal nature and give him all the love he’s been waiting for.
ABOUT: CHOW CHOW DOG BREED
The Chow Chow, a distinctive breed known for its lion like mane and unique blue black tongue, originated in China over 2,000 years ago. These aloof yet loyal dogs are known for their independent nature, dignified demeanor, and protective instincts. Chow Chows require early socialization and training to thrive in a family setting, as they can be stubborn and territorial. With a dense double coat that requires regular grooming and a history as ancient guardians and hunting companions, the Chow Chow remains a fascinating and enigmatic breed in the canine world.
The husky breed is renowned for its striking appearance, characterized by piercing eyes and a thick double coat. These medium sized, energetic dogs are known for their friendly and outgoing personalities, making them wonderful companions for active families. Originally bred for sledding and endurance in cold climates, huskies are intelligent and independent, often displaying a strong prey drive. Proper training and regular exercise are crucial to keep these playful and social animals happy and well adjusted.
