Husky and American Staffordshire Terrier Dogs Available for Adoption in Cheboygan, Michigan

We’d like to introduce you to Rexx, our newest arrival—and trust us, this handsome guy was too good not to share right away.

Rexx is about 1.5 years old and is a pit-ski (pit/husky mix) with all the personality (and vocals!) that come with it. He’s still settling in, and we’re learning more about him each day. As we get to know him better, we’ll be sure to share updates—but one thing is already clear: Rexx is something special.

He came to us due to a change in living situations where his needs simply couldn’t be met. Rexx isn’t a low-key kind of dog—he’s smart, energetic, and full of potential. He’ll need a home that’s ready to keep up with him, not just physically but mentally too. Training, structure, and consistency will be key to helping him thrive.

Rexx is looking for stability, guidance, and a committed person (or family) who understands the needs of an intelligent, active dog. In return, he has all the makings of an incredible companion—especially for someone who loves adventure and wants a dog right by their side.

And yes… when Rexx has something to say, you’ll hear about it. He’s got that classic husky voice and isn’t shy about using it!

Right now, Rexx is waiting to be neutered and receive updated vaccines before he’s officially ready for adoption. But we couldn’t wait to share his face in hopes that the right person sees him early, falls in love, and gets their application in so everything is ready when he is.

The American Staffordshire Terrier, also known as the Amstaff, is a medium sized, muscular breed known for its loyalty and courage. Developed in the United States, they are intelligent and affectionate dogs, making them great family companions. With a distinctive short coat and strong build, American Staffordshire Terriers are often misunderstood due to their past as fighting dogs, but they are actually loving and playful pets when raised in a nurturing environment. They thrive on human interaction and are eager to please their owners.

The husky breed is renowned for its striking appearance, characterized by piercing eyes and a thick double coat. These medium sized, energetic dogs are known for their friendly and outgoing personalities, making them wonderful companions for active families. Originally bred for sledding and endurance in cold climates, huskies are intelligent and independent, often displaying a strong prey drive. Proper training and regular exercise are crucial to keep these playful and social animals happy and well adjusted.
