Meet Duke
Duke is a 1.5-year-old German Shepherd–type mix, weighing in at a perfect medium size of around 45 pounds—but it’s his gentle heart that truly defines him.
This sweet boy is shy and still learning to trust people. After being bounced from home to home and spending much of his time outdoors, Duke is finally ready for something he’s never truly had—a place to settle, feel safe, and be loved.
Duke is looking for a patient, understanding home that will help him build confidence at his own pace. He has so much potential to grow into an incredibly loyal and loving companion—he just needs someone willing to give him that chance.
When it comes to other dogs, Duke isn’t quite sure what to think yet. He tends to keep to himself, but with time, guidance, and positive experiences, we believe he’ll learn how to engage and build those relationships.
He has been around children, and with his naturally sweet temperament, he could do well in a variety of homes—as long as his transition is handled with care and patience.
Duke has been through a lot, but his story doesn’t end there—it’s just beginning.
