Popcorn - Hound and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Shorewood, Illinois

Meet Popcorn - A Little Kernel of Love!

Hello, everyone! My name is Popcorn, and I'm an adorable 7-week-old male Hound mix who's ready to pop right into your heart!

I'm expected to stay on the smaller side, but I've got a whole lot of puppy love to give! I'm busy learning all about the world, discovering new things, and working on becoming the best little companion I can be. All I need is a loving family to guide me, spoil me with cuddles, and make wonderful memories with me!

Don't let this sweet little Popcorn get away! I'm ready to pop into my forever home and fill it with love, laughter, and puppy kisses!

Our adoption process is usually quick but may take up to two weeks. When you find an animal you are interested in, we ask that you fill out an application on our website, PawsUp4Rescue.org/adopting as a first step so we can determine if your family is a good fit for the animal. If you are, then we will contact you to arrange a time for you and your family to meet the animal so you can decide if it is a good fit. If you currently have dogs, we require them to be present at the meeting to ensure it's a good fit all around. Once compatibility is determined, we move on to the paperwork and finalize the adoption.

If the meet is not a good fit, we will keep your application on file for 6 months and will gladly consider your family for another dog.

The hound dog breed is a diverse group known for their incredible hunting abilities and keen sense of smell. These dogs are esteemed for their athleticism, endurance, and loyalty, making them excellent companions for active individuals and families alike. With a rich history of assisting hunters in tracking and trailing game, hounds possess a strong prey drive and a distinctive bay when on the hunt. Hounds come in various sizes and coat types, each with its unique characteristics, but they all share a remarkable intelligence and a friendly disposition.

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
