DESCRIPTION
Rosey is the sweetest girl! She hails all the way from Arkansas where she was rescued from a hoarding situation.
Rosey is a hound mix, believed to be around 1.5 to 2 years old. She is incredibly affectionate and loves nothing more than to be with her human at all times, whether in their lap or by their side. It would be hard to find a more affectionate and sweet girl.
Rosey has moderate cerebellar hypoplasia, which is an underdevelopment of the portion of the brain that coordinates movement. This means that Rosey is very wobbly when she walks and sometimes falls over. We think this makes her extra special. She may get tired on longer walks because it takes her more effort. Rosey also can't do stairs, but she is small enough (around 40 lbs) where she can be carried up and down stairs if needed. Cerebellar hypoplasia is not painful and does not get better or worse.
Rosey came to the rescue with some resource guarding issues, which have resolved. This stemmed from her past environment in which the animals needed to fight to be fed. Never has she resource guarded with her foster humans, but she did initially with other dogs and cats.
Rosey has been friendly with other animals, cuddling with another dog in her foster home and even with some of the cats, and has shown no prey drive.
Rosey is potty trained and she is fully kennel trained. She can chew out of a wire kennel, so a plastic sided kennel is recommended if necessary. She has not been destructive at all when loose in her foster home, only when confined.
Rosey is spayed, vaccinated, tested heartworm negative, and microchipped.
