This is Jack-o'-Lantern! This little fella had a very rough start — he was found injured, and quickly given veterinary care, including a leg amputation. He is loving the indoor life and has shown himself to be an ever-so-slightly timid guy who is eager for love and attention once he is in your arms.
He is now minus his rear right leg, but he still gets zoomies — turns out a cat can still go really fast with 3 legs! He just uses his front claws to pull himself up onto anything over knee height.
Jack is a VERY sweet cat. When his foster mom leans over to pick him up, the moment a hand is under an armpit his front legs start to stretch out in pick-me-up "uppies!" pose. He just loves to be loved.
He gets pretty excited for mealtime and will escort you to the kitchen, so you do have to watch your feet! He starts purring LOUDLY while his meal is being prepared.
Since no one is perfect, here is his 1 caveat. Jack has a little trouble holding his pee, possibly due to his previous injuries. He uses a pee pad in one area of the house and the rest of the time he uses the litterbox, however sometimes he has a little "dribble" especially when he gets excited about something. The pee pad use is likely behavioral so that is potentially something his new parent(s) could work on with him. He is currently on a prescription urinary cat food to prevent crystals, and has a good appetite.
He would probably be okay as a singlet if he gets plenty of human attention, but he does show interest in having a feline friend, and we think he'd do well with another cat. He'd do best with a cat that can stand up for itself if Jacko is being too bossy.
Anyone who meets Jack will fall in love quickly — he's just that kind of sweet cat who loves people. He'd make a wonderful addition to a loving home.
Est. DOB October 2024, he is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. He requires a prescription urinary diet.
Adopters will also receive an adoption package of goodies valued at around $100 if you visit one or both of our pet store partners after adoption (Tabby & Jacks and/or All Paws).
