JETHRO GIBBS - Havanese Dog for Adoption in Southaven, Mississippi

Let me introduce myself. I am Leroy Jethro Gibbs. No, not the one from NCIS, but I am just as handsome and commanding as the TV character. I landed for brief time in the Brig or as you know it, the local animal control facility. I committed no crime. Unless you consider being devilishly handsome a felony! Now that I am back to civilian life, I am looking for the best home to live out my dreams. I am a 2 to 3 year old, 16 pound Havanese mix.

There are some non-negotiable terms for my new “life” sentence:

1. No children of any size or age. Not. Any.

2. Preferably no other animals. You see, before rescue, I was an only dog and I LIKE IT LIKE THAT. I have made friends here in my foster home, but in my heart I want to be an only pet.

3. I am seeking someone who will cuddle with me when I want pets, but who will let me have my space when I want or need it. I will give a low rumble when I have had enough attention. I will not snap or bite.

4. I need someone who is comfortable with letting me adjust to a new space and person at my own pace.

5. I must have my hair done regularly by a groomer skilled in handling sensitive dogs. (My foster mom has a list for you).

6. Last, but not least, I can meet you by appointment only. (I prefer not to attend public adoption events).

The best home for L. Jethro Gibbs will have an excellent history of vet care for current or previous pets. There must be a securely fenced yard. Applicants with prior specific breed experience will be given priority. If you love the Havanese breed, have a calm lifestyle, and a loving heart, Gibbs would love to meet you. He is fully vetted. Vetting includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies and all dog vaccinations. His local adoption fee is $300 for adoptions within the Memphis, TN tristate area. You can apply to adopt him today!

THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET!

The Havanese is a charming toy breed known for its lively and affectionate nature. Originating from Cuba, this small dog is characterized by its long, flowing coat, playful personality, and intelligence. Havanese dogs are adaptable to various living environments, making them well suited companions for both city dwellers and suburban families. They thrive on human companionship, excel in obedience training, and are often described as "velcro dogs" for their tendency to stick close to their owners. With a distinctive springy gait and a friendly disposition, the Havanese is an ideal choice for families seeking a loving and loyal canine companion.
