DESCRIPTION

Gracie Lou is the kind of puppy who makes you fall in love before you even realize it is happening. Maybe it is her incredibly sweet disposition, the gentle way she leans in for affection, or those hilariously oversized paws covered in the cutest little freckles. Everything about this girl is irresistible. She may be a little shy when she first steps into an unfamiliar situation, but she is still just a baby learning about the world. Give her a few minutes and a little kindness, and Gracie will quickly begin showing you just how loving, affectionate, and special she truly is.

Watch her video and fall in love with those big freckled paws: https://youtu.be/suRXRNEL5p4?si=JK5ZD-YBF2LlaPrQ

Gracie is approximately 6 months old and currently weighs around 40 pounds. We believe she may be a Great Pyrenees and German Shorthaired Pointer mix, but with animal rescue, breed and age are always a mystery and our best guesses. We do believe she still has some growing left to do, especially if those enormous puppy paws are any indication!

It is honestly hard to explain just how sweet this girl is. Gracie loves people, happily soaks up affection, and has such an incredibly gentle nature. She can be a little reserved when first meeting someone, but it does not take her long to open up and begin leaning into the love. Once she feels comfortable, she simply wants to stay close, cuddle, and be reminded that she is safe and adored. Gracie has not spent time around children just yet, but based on her loving disposition and gentle personality, we believe she has the potential to be a wonderful companion for a family with kids. If you have children and would like to know how she does around them, just let us know! We would be happy to arrange an introduction so we can help determine whether everyone feels comfortable together.

She is also dog friendly and is currently fostered in a multi-dog household. Gracie has done well with dogs who are smaller than her, around her size, and larger than her. Much like she is with people, she can be a little shy when meeting a new dog, but she remains incredibly sweet. She has a gentle play style and would likely do best with a happy-go-lucky dog who is friendly, easygoing, and not overly pushy during playtime. She would love having a sweet buddy to quietly explore the backyard with, follow around the house, and enjoy gentle games of play beside.

Gracie also met our house cat, Biggie, and handled the introduction beautifully. She was respectful, did not attempt to chase him, and was not bothered when Biggie jumped around or did typical cat things. Biggie appeared comfortable around her too, which is always a lovely sign. We do not know whether Gracie has ever lived with a cat before, and this was our first time observing her around one. If you have a cat in your home, we can arrange a cat sleepover upon request. Just let us know!

For such a young puppy, Gracie is already off to a wonderful start with her training. She is crate trained and, from what we have seen, is generally comfortable relaxing in her crate. She also has good house manners and is mostly potty trained. She may have an occasional accident, but she is still young and practicing where the appropriate potty places are. With patience, consistency, and a reliable routine, we believe she will continue making great progress.

Gracie loves treats, already knows how to sit, and takes treats so gently. She is also learning how to walk like a lady on a leash. Like any young dog, she will need continued guidance and practice, but she is sweet, willing, and eager to learn. With time and consistency, we believe she will grow into a wonderful walking companion for neighborhood strolls and everyday adventures.

Gracie has a beautifully balanced energy level. She is not a nonstop ball of chaos, but she is not a total couch potato either. She enjoys having space to explore and would thrive in a home with a backyard, although she also has the potential to do well in an apartment as long as she receives proper exercise, enrichment, and continued socialization. She is quiet, easy to love, and always happy to settle in for cuddles after spending time outside.

Everything about Gracie feels special, from her sweet disposition and gentle nature to her loving heart and ridiculously adorable freckled paws. She is still learning about the world, and what she needs most is a family who will patiently guide her, spoil her, and remind her every day just how loved she is. Give this precious girl the chance to feel safe, and she will reward you with a lifetime of soft cuddles, quiet devotion, and the purest kind of love.

We are willing to test Gracie Lou with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know.
