Pepe - Great Pyrenees Dog for Adoption in Bridgeport, California

Pepe is a 3-year-old Great Pyrenees with the sweetest soul, the gentlest eyes, and quite possibly the biggest, fluffiest head we’ve ever had the pleasure of loving.

Pepe has been through quite a journey. After suffering an injury to his hind leg, this handsome boy underwent amputation surgery. Today, we are so happy to share that Pepe is fully healed, 100% recovered, and absolutely THRIVING on three legs!

Over the past several weeks, we’ve watched him adapt beautifully to his new normal. His energy is back, his confidence is growing, and his personality is shining brighter every day. Now that he’s feeling better and living without the pain he once knew, we’re getting to see more of the real Pepe, and oh, what a character he is!

He’s goofy. He’s silly. He’s ridiculously affectionate. And underneath all that magnificent fluff is a heart that seems to have an endless supply of love to give. Watching him come back to life has been such a beautiful thing, and we can’t help but imagine just how much more he will blossom once he has a family of his own.

We don’t want Pepe spending another winter in a kennel. We want him spending it HOME. We want him to know the warmth of a cozy couch, the comfort of a familiar human, the joy of being someone's very best friend, and the security of a place where he is loved simply for being himself. After everything he’s been through, this boy deserves a soft place to land.

A little about our big, fluffy masterpiece:
Dog-friendly: Pepe does very well with other dogs!

Pepe was raised around livestock, and his Great Pyrenees heritage is an important part of who he is. Great Pyrenees were bred to guard livestock, often working outdoors and making decisions on their own. They are known for their loyalty, calm nature, and protective instincts — but they also tend to be independent thinkers with a natural instinct to patrol their surroundings.

Pepe would love a home with some space to stretch his legs, explore, and enjoy the great outdoors. A securely fenced area is essential, as his working-dog instincts and wanderlust mean he may wander off if left in an unsecured space. His family will need to keep a close eye on him outside and make sure he always has a safe, secure place to enjoy the world.

He may have three legs, but that hasn’t stopped him from living life to the fullest. He doesn’t need someone to feel sorry for him. He needs someone who sees the silly, loving, fluffy-hearted dog standing right in front of them and thinks, “That’s my boy!”

The person who adopts Pepe is going to be one very lucky human. Imagine coming home to that enormous fluffy head, those sweet eyes, and a dog who is just so happy to see you. Imagine being the person who gives him the chance to finally settle in, exhale, and know he never has to wonder where he belongs again.
Pepe has done his healing. He has found his footing. He is ready to love and be loved. Now, all that’s missing is YOU.
