Meet Maggie June, an absolute sweetheart who just wants to be loved by her family! Maggie June was found in Louisiana with a horrible neck wound, but she came into foster care and is all happy and healed now, ready to start the next chapter of her life. She has a medium-length and soft coat, and she is housebroken and leash trained. She'd do well as a leash walk only dog, or with a 5-foot fenced yard. She has basic obedience training, and a moderate activity level. Maggie June lives with two indoor cats and mostly ignores them, but will give them a sniff when they come up and rub on her. She's also been around over twenty other dogs of different breeds and plays heavy with all the younger ones - she enjoys herding them. She would do well with or without other pets in the home. When it comes to meeting new people, she's good with everyone, and while she hasn't been around kids, she loves people, so older kids would be a good fit. She doesn't dig, and she barks less than average, just to alert. Maggie June is happy either inside or outside, splitting her time about fifty-fifty. She loves car rides, and enjoys watermelon. The ideal home for Maggie June would be an active family. She's so focused on wanting to be around humans and loves to herd everyone together and keep her people close. If you're looking for a dog that is gentle and would be devoted to your family, then this is your girl!

Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted.
Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicants ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
