Great Pyrenees and Labrador Retriever Dogs Available for Adoption in Normal, Illinois

This is Loki, a handsome 3-month-old Great Pyrenees/Labrador Retriever mix who currently weighs 12.2 pounds. He arrived at Wish Bone with his three siblings. He’s currently working on house- and crate-training and is doing well—especially with using a potty pad when he can’t make it outside. During the day, he’s gated in the kitchen with his sister and will often choose to sleep in his crate with the door left open.

Loki gets along well with dogs, cats, and children, and actually seems to gravitate more toward children than adults. He enjoys spending time playing in the yard, chewing on a good bone, playing with toys, and riding nicely in the car.

Loki is a quiet, gentle boy who can be a bit reserved at first. He may take a few minutes to warm up, but once he does, his tail starts wagging and his sweet personality shines through. He tends to be more of a follower—waiting for his sister or other dogs to take the lead before joining in.

It seems that Loki may not have had much early human interaction, so he can be a little unsure about being approached or picked up. He does best when allowed to come to you on his own terms.

Loki would thrive in a patient, understanding home—especially one with a confident canine companion. His minimum adoption fee is $350 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
