Meet Sweet Girl, a 1.5-year-old Great Pyrenees / Husky mix, weighing 70 pounds (as of 4/14/26). What's so crazy is that this beauty was found as a stray in Tennessee! That's no place for her to be! She should be enjoying the fancy New England lifestyle that she's heard so much about. Let's make it happen!
Sweet Girl may be her name, but it's truly who she is! She's a gem of a dog that will hand out bouquets of roses to strangers for no reason! This girl has a big heart and wants to make people smile. Her foster has even said that she has more of the Pyrenees personality with none of the Husky except the colors. Sweet Girl has done well with strangers and tends to goes with the flow but she does play a little when she feels like it. She was originally found with a smaller dog and has also done well with some her size. We're not quite sure about her experience with cats, but she's willing to learn. They don't call her Sweet Girl for nothing! Speaking of sweets, got any candy on you?
She does well on a leash, loves kids, and is steadily working on crating and house-training so she can be the best family member she can be. Sweet Girl hasn't shown a high prey drive, but with her breed, anything goes!
She is a sweetheart in every sense of the word. Let's find her a great home!
All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.
Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
