Border Collie and German Shepherd Dog Dogs Available for Adoption in Andover, Massachusetts

This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally.

Welcome to Dogwarts, school of Fetch-craft and Zoomies! We're thrilled to introduce you to Lyra Hufflepup, a 6-week-old Border Collie / German Shepherd mix, weighing 9.3 pounds (as of 4/20/26). She hails from the HUFFLEPUP litter whose owners moved away and abandoned them with their mom. But just like The Dog Who Lived, these pups are resilient! With a flick of their wands, they're sure to add magic to your castle!

Lyra Hufflepup's energy is as warm as a hug from Hagrid. This beautiful girl shines best when she's around her siblings and her people. But don't be fooled by her cuteness! She knows enough spells to throw off any Dementor that comes her way. When she's not defending Dogwarts against the dark arts, you'll find her cozying up on your lap for a nice little nap. She deserves it after all!

As they embark on their first year at Dogwarts, the Hufflepups hope their professors will provide a home committed to training and structure as they learn commands, potty, leashing, etc. These puppies are being socialized and are regularly exposed to wizards of all ages, canines, felines, ghosts, werewolves, giants and a variety of experiences in the Wizarding World. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
