Please Note: WE ARE NOT A SHELTER- ALL DANES ARE IN FOSTER HOMES
🐾 MEET IZZY! 🐾
Izzy’s journey hasn’t been easy. She was sadly dumped alongside two other Great Danes and picked up by Harris County Animal Control. While in the shelter, Izzy developed a severe upper respiratory infection, but thanks to proper care and lots of love, she is now on the mend and ready to start looking toward her bright future. 💙
Izzy is an incredibly sweet and gentle soul who truly deserves a second chance.
Does exceptionally well in her crate
Loves her toys (though she can be a little possessive with them around other dogs)
Gets along with dogs of all sizes
Is affectionate and people-oriented, always happiest near her humans
Enjoys relaxing on her bed or basking in the sun outside ☀️
Izzy is heartworm positive and she will be treated for heartworms once she has fully recovered from her upper respiratory infection.
Despite everything she’s been through, Izzy has been amazing during her recovery—handling medications, cleaning, and care like a champ. Just tuck her meds into her food, and she takes them without any fuss.
Izzy is past the high-energy puppy stage and is now calm, well-mannered, and still playful enough to enjoy her toys. She walks nicely on a leash using a pinch collar and continues to show what a wonderful companion she can be.
She is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and will be spayed once she has regained her strength and is fully recovered.
🏡 Izzy is ready for a loving foster or furever home.
Could you be the one to give her the life she’s been waiting for?
💙 This sweet girl has been through so much—now it’s her turn to be cherished.

ADOPTION CONTRIBUTION FEE: $400.00
In many cases, the cost of vetting services is greater than the adoption contribution. The adoption contributions help defray the costs of vetting services, but rarely, if ever, cover all expenses. Additional donations are welcomed and appreciated. Please consider making a donation to help offset medical expenses.
To do so, please visit our website at www.saveadane.org
GDRST will have the following services completed as part of the adoption process. Each animal will be spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, heartworm treated if applicable, fecal tested, de-wormed, microchipped and monthly heartworm preventative
Please note GDRST is an all-volunteer, run by individuals with full time careers. In order to meet with a Dane that you are interested in, please complete our online application. After receiving your application, a volunteer will verify with your vet the care on your current or previous animals and then contact you to set up a home eval and to discuss which Dane may be a match for you.
