Mandy is a beautiful Great Dane with a big heart, a playful spirit, and so much love to give. She can be a little shy and guarded when meeting new people, especially men, but once she feels safe, her sweet and affectionate personality shines. Mandy just needs a little patience, a gentle approach, and the chance to learn that she is finally somewhere she can feel secure.
This girl has the cutest zoomies! She loves racing around the backyard, making tight turns around trees, playing tug-of-war with her favorite toys, and hunting for hidden treasures in her toys. After about 15 minutes of fun, she is ready to curl up beside her favorite person for some well-deserved cuddles. She is a smart, loving girl who even offers her paw as if asking for approval. And, like a true Great Dane, she loves to lean in close and share plenty of slobbery kisses!
Mandy is a well-mannered houseguest. She is housebroken, crate-trained, rides well in the car, and knows commands like sit, down, and heel. She can be trusted loose in the house overnight without destroying things. Although she can get excited and occasionally jump or become a little mouthy when showing affection, she responds to gentle correction and wants to please her people.
Mandy can be fearful of strangers and may bark or growl when she feels uncertain. She needs a calm, predictable home with people who will respect her boundaries and allow her to build trust at her own pace. She has made wonderful progress with some of her reactivity, and patience and positive reinforcement will help her continue to blossom.
Mandy has shown resource guarding around other dogs and can play a little too roughly, so careful management and slow introductions are important. A home without other dogs may be the best fit, and a home without young children is recommended because of her size and exuberant play style. She also has a couple of growths and possible underlying injuries that will need veterinary follow-up.
Mandy's dream home has a securely fenced backyard, a cozy bed, fun toys, and loving humans who understand that the best relationships grow from trust. She doesn't need a perfect home—just a patient one where she can feel safe, loved, and accepted.
