Introducing Oak!
If you've ever wished you could have a Golden Retriever in a more compact package, Oak might just be your dream dog. At around 30 pounds, he looks like a miniature Golden Retriever, complete with his soft coat, sweet expression, and gentle personality.
Oak has already survived more than any dog ever should. He came to us after a traumatic situation where his owner was experiencing a severe mental health crisis and attempted to set their home on fire with both of them inside. Thankfully, Oak made it out safely, and now he's ready to leave that chapter behind forever.
Despite everything he's been through, Oak hasn't let his past define him. He's simply one of those dogs who is happy just being near his people. Calm, gentle, and easygoing, he's the kind of companion who is content to follow you from room to room, curl up nearby, and remind you that the best moments in life are often the quiet ones.
Oak enjoys going for walks and is wonderful on a leash, making him a great companion for neighborhood strolls or relaxing adventures. He also gets along well with other dogs and has a laid-back personality that makes him easy to love.
After everything life has thrown his way, Oak deserves a home where he'll never have to wonder if he's safe again.
Oak is currently in South Carolina and is ready to make the trip north. He's looking for either a foster home or a foster-to-adopt home to welcome him when he arrives.
Fostering is completely free—we provide all food, supplies, and veterinary care. All you need to provide is a safe, loving home and plenty of love while he waits for his forever family.
If you've been thinking about adopting but would like to make sure Oak is the perfect fit first, our foster-to-adopt program is a wonderful option. It gives you the opportunity to welcome him into your home before finalizing the adoption, making the transition easier for everyone while ensuring it's the right match.
Transport arrives in the Pottstown, PA, area with morning pickup.
If you've been thinking about fostering or adopting, Oak would love to be the reason you say yes.
