Meemaw - Golden Retriever Dog for Adoption in Campton Hills, Illinois

Oh Meemaw, what can we say about this special girl? Meemaw is a 6 year old, 80 pound, Golden Retriever who is sweet as can be! She will come right up to new friends, nudge them for pets, and then lay down down at their feet. She loves to be with people! She's still adjusting to her foster home, but she's coexisting peacefully with the resident dog after a slow intro. We don't think she'd be a great match for cats, but she'd be fine with children who understand she's a big and strong pup!

Meemaw is doing great with potty training and we think she'd be fine with free roam, but her foster family is helping her get used to spending time in her crate. She's a strong dog and she needs work on her leash walking, so her forever family will need to be ready to handle her while she learns to walk politely! She also hasn't figured out getting in and out of the car on her own, so she will need a lift :) Meemaw's favorite pastime is following her humans around looking for love, and we are sure the perfect family is ready to give her all the belly rubs and chin scratches her heart desires!
