Sheldon - Giant Schnauzer and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Buford, Georgia

Say hello to our handsome Sheldon! As soon as we saw him we thought: Giant Schnauzer mix! And that is still what we think! However, it is just a guess as we do not breed test.

Whatever breed he is, Sheldon is a smart, well-behaved boy! He is estimated at about 4.5 years old, is crate and house trained, lives in a foster home with other dogs, and has been super sweet all along.

Sheldon was "urgent" at a local shelter because he had an injury to his hind leg that the shelter was unable to treat. He needed TPLO surgery. We were able to pull him just in time to save his life, and he had the surgery in August. This surgery has a long recovery, but Sheldon has been progressing nicely! He is putting all his weight on the leg now and getting around fine, though that one leg is a bit wobbly still.

He will have follow-up xrays in Nov just to check the progress. Sheldon also has some hip dysplasia, and we will assess that more when he has the xrays.

Even though Sheldon is still recovering, we are now accepting applications for him. If he is adopted prior to his appointment for xrays, the rescue will still cover that.

Sheldon is a fantastic dog, and he deserves his very own family as soon as possible, now that the hard part is behind him!
