German Shorthaired Pointer Dogs Available for Adoption in Grand Bay, Alabama

Libby Lou is a German wire-haired pointer mix. She is approximately one and half years old. Her previous owner’s housing situation has changed and she is unable to keep her. Libby loves dogs of all sizes and children of all ages. She has been around a variety of dogs and is very submissive to others. Due to her being a mix of two hunting dogs, cats and smaller mammals (not including dogs) are not a good fit for her. She needs a secured fence and if she had her way she would spend her days outside laying in the sun. She is used to a dog door, but she has been okay the past few months spending her days inside. Libby loves to go on long walks and playing with her toys in the yard. She misses the concept of fetch, but she will gladly trot to the toy and play with it where it lands. Libby is a cuddle bug, and most would say she has the personality to be a service animal with her calm demeanor. She is utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and spayed.

Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.

All dogs have a $195 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!

Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $145 is due at pick up.
