Introducing Miss Velveteen Rabbit! Just like her namesake, this girl has really come alive through love. Nicknamed Rabbit, this black beauty is ready for a permanent address to call her very own. Rabbit has been spayed, vetted, microchipped, and has received a clean bill of health from our vet. Through Rabbit, we have seen what true love can do! Please read on for her transformative story, and for instructions on how to request an application for her!
Here is what we know about RABBITI:
- Rabbit is around 10-12 months old, and weighs @ 40lbs. She will definitely top out at under 50lbs. She is a lanky and slender girl with a glossy coat.
- We have done a DNA test on Rabbit and should have the results any day now. Our best guesses for breed mash ups are German short haired pointer, maybe some lab, maybe some Great Dane, and possibly some other types of hound breeds. Any way you look at it, this girl is full of pixie dust. We will update her breed listings once we get the results!
- Rabbit had a rough beginning to life and was found by animal control extremely malnourished/underweight, starving, and abandoned, literally weighing half of her expected body weight. Foster mom took one look at Rabbit and scooped her up where she has since been receiving lots of TLC in foster care.
- Rabbit is basically a plug and play lady who is already trained. She is house broken, kennel trained, rides great in a car, and walks well on a leash. She is extremely smart and treat motivated, so we are certain that she will be able to pick up even more commands once she gets to her forever home.
- Foster mom reports that Rabbit rarely barks and absolutely loves to sit on your lap and cuddle. She loves her person, and is very affectionate. She has very long legs and can run like the wind, so she would happily be your walking/running/hiking partner. Her slender lanky build is perfect for an active companion!
- Rabbit is an extremely social girl who loves dogs of all ages and sizes. She regularly attends doggy camp where she plays with every pup she meets.
- Rabbit is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and has received a clean bill of health.
- Rabbit shares a foster home with other dogs and she gets along great with them. She would do just fine as the only dog, or with another doggy playmate in her new household.
- Rabbit hasn't been directly exposed to cats, but we think with a proper introduction she would be just fine with them.
- Rabbit would make a great family dog for kids 5+. She loves to play and would enjoy growing up with active children at home.
- We would love to see Rabbit go to a home with a fenced in yard as she loves to observe the wildlife at foster mom's house and we think she would really love being able to run and play in a secure yard of her very own.
What we love about Rabbit: She is a special girl who deserves the world!
