Honey is a beautiful 6-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer / Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix with a loving personality and a heart full of loyalty. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and in good health, and she’s ready to find the right home where she can truly thrive.

Honey is a wonderful blend of active adventure buddy and relaxed couch companion. She loves walks, hiking, and playing frisbee, but she’s just as happy lounging around the house or sunbathing nearby. Honey also enjoys spending time with her dog friends and forming close bonds with her people. Once she feels comfortable, she is incredibly affectionate and devoted.

Honey does best with experienced dog owners who understand dog body language and are comfortable providing structure and consistency. She has shown resource guarding behaviors with high-value items, so she thrives in a calm, predictable environment with clear boundaries. Because of this, Honey would do best in a home without young children.

Honey has completed canine good citizen training, and general obedience training. She is crate trained, leash and house trained. She knows commands such as sit, down, stay, place, go crate, shake, and more. She has mastered a heel while walking but sometimes needs a reminder of her training. She enjoys training and working or playing 1-on-1 with her adult family.

Honey is good with select dogs, particularly calm, submissive personalities, and she is good with cats. She would likely thrive in a home with another compatible dog, but proper introductions and compatibility testing will be important to ensure the best fit.
